How to Make an Appointment
The practice operates a full appointment system with morning and afternoon surgeries. We also offer evening appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and hold routine clinics every Saturday morning between 8 and 10am. Please telephone 020 8650 0173, or call in to make your appointment.
Alternatively you can book your appointment online using the link on the homepage. (You must be registered to use this service, see on-line booking section in contact us to apply for this.)You may choose to see any of our doctors and if the doctor of your choice is unavailable due to sickness or holidays we will offer you an appointment with one of the others.
We aim in offer appointments 4-6 weeks in advance: if your need is not urgent we recommend that you book ahead so that you are more likely to get the doctor and time of choice. If you ask to see a particular doctor the reception staff will offer you the next available free slot unless you specify a date.
If you see the GP and they ask you to come back for a follow up please visit the reception desk on your way out to book this rather than call on the day you need to be reviewed as you may be disappointed by availability of that doctor.
If you see a doctor for a particular aliment please try to see the same GP for any follow up to give continuity of care. This is good clinical practice and we believe it is in the best interests of our patients. (see above re follow up appointments).
Patient Access
Telephone Advice
Some issues do not need a face to face consultation and can be dealt with over the telephone; you may request a telephone consultation with a doctor in such instances.
Please let us know early in the day if you would like to speak to a doctor; this gives your doctor the opportunity to plan their schedule accordingly.
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception as soon as possible after 8am and before 12 midday.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or bedbound. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
Appointment Tips and FAQs
Cancellations
If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment slot to someone else.
Timekeeping
Please arrive on time for your appointments. Our clinicians do their upmost to ensure the smooth running of their surgeries and it helps them greatly if you arrive in good time.
Whilst our clinicians try their best to keep to time, naturally there are occasions when this is not possible. It may be that there has been a medical emergency or that a previous patient has needed a little extra time than anticipated.
Multiple Problems
We ask that you endeavour to limit your appointments to one problem at a time. Please do not store up problems. This ensures that the appointment schedule runs as efficiently as possible for everyone.
